yarn over knitwise
YO simply means ‘ Yarn Over’ and is an increase stitch which creates a little hole in your knitting. There are 2 different ways to do a Yarn Over depending on if you are knitting or purling. Right now we’re talking about a yarn over knitwise.
Bring your yarn to the front of the work, as if getting ready to purl. If we now start our next knit stitch, we are creating an extra loop that sits over the top of the needle. This is our YO stitch.
A yarn over will both look like a little ‘hole’ in your work and create more stitches on your needles. When you come to work your yarn over stitches on your next row, simply knit or purl them as you would a normal stitch.
